Professor Muzaherul Huq is a medical graduate from Dhaka University and specialised in Forensic Pathology at the London Hospital Medical College. He completed his Masters in Medical Education at Dundee University. He was Director of the Centre for Medical Education in Bangladesh and initiated and introduced the scheme of ‘Quality Assurance in Medical Education’ in medical colleges.
He served as Regional Advisor, Human Resources for Health in WHO SEARO.
Professor Muzaherul Huq was also the Advisor to the Human Resources hub of New South Wales University (UNSW), Australia.
Social Accountability of Medical Colleges is an area which he is taking an interest, promoting the theme as a Task Force member of GCSA (Global Consensus on Social Accountability).
He was awarded an Honorary Fellowship by IAS for his contribution in promoting Medical Education in South East Asia. Professor Huq is the founder President of AME, Bangladesh and currently holds the position of Adviser to SEARAME.
