Ambassador Shahed Akhter

Ambassador Shahed Akhtar, former Ambassador to Spain, Thailand and Cambodia. He was Permanent Representative to the WTO and UNESCAP. He was Member of the Board of Trustees of the Asian Institute of Technologies (AIT) and Asian Disaster Preparedness Centre (ADPC) He was Member of BFTI and the National Training Council, Bangladesh. His last assignment was Principal, Bangladesh Foreign Service Academy until 2009. He was a member of Commonwealth Observer Group, Ghanas Presidential and Parliamentary Election Dec 2012.

He graduated in Economics and Masters in Political Science. He was a Research Associate at the Institute of Diplomacy, Georgetown University, Washington. He is a graduate from the National Defense College (NDC). He represented in various Regional and International Conferences in the UN, Law of the Seas, SAARC, BIMSTEC, and ARF. He was a Member of the UN Expert Group SMEs on Global Value Chain.
