A career diplomat of the BCS (FA) cadre, Ambassador Masood Aziz last served as the Ambassador of Bangladesh to Jordan, Syria and Lebanon and High Commissioner of Bangladesh to Malaysia. During his long career he held important assignment in New Delhi, Islamabad, Riyadh. He also served as the founding Secretary General of SAARC Chamber of Commerce and Industry. He served in Bangladesh Embassies/Missions in Bonn, Vienna, Berne (Switzerland), Rome and Tehran. While serving as Director General (West Asia, Central Asia, Africa and Welfare), he was given the responsibility of the Chief Coordinator for Foreign Observers to Parliamentary Elections of 10/2001. He also served as a Member of the Board of Governors of the International Islamic University (IIU) and member of the Royal Commonwealth Society (Kuala Lumpur chapter).
Masood Aziz completed his Masters degree in Economics from Dhaka University, received specialised training in security and completed a yearlong training programme at the National Defence College.
Currently engaged as a private sector consultant in the textile industry, Ambassador Masood Aziz is married with two sons.
